State Resources

Many states offer grants and/or other types of financial aid to their residents, availability varies. Contact the Department of Education in your state for information, or navigate the Department of Education’s web page at http://www2.ed.gov/about/contacts/state/index.html.

All states have created innovative college savings programs designed to meet the savings needs of their citizens. These programs seek to make the savings option easier for the average family. They represent positive, productive and affordable options that can ensure an education. For more information on the State sponsored savings plans log onto http://www.collegesavings.org/index.aspx.

Tribal Benefits:

Pacifica accepts tribal benefits. Several American Indian tribal nations provide tuition assistance for students who are recognized members. For additional information on tribal funding, please visit https://www.doi.gov/tribes/benefits.

Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits:

Pacifica’s programs are approved for individuals who are eligible for benefits administered by the Department of Rehabilitation. For more information visit the California State Vocational Rehabilitation website at http://www.dor.ca.gov. If you live outside the state of California, contact your state office for complete details and eligibility requirements.

Veterans Administration Educational Benefits:

Pacifica’s programs are approved for the training of veterans and other eligible persons under Title 38, U.S. Code. Pacifica is approved to administer Chapter 33 Post-9/11 GI Bill tuition assistance benefits, Yellow Ribbon Scholarships, Chapter 35 Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational Assistance and Chapter 31 Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits for qualifying veterans. To find out if you are eligible under any of these programs, call 1-888-GIBILL1 or visit http://www.gibill.va.gov/.

For students eligible for education benefits through the Veterans Administration, all previous education and training will be evaluated. Credit will be awarded where appropriate and the program will be shortened accordingly. The student and the Veterans Administration will be notified promptly.

Failure to maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher in three consecutive quarters will result in the veteran’s benefits being interrupted and the VA office being notified.

Private Resources:

Numerous private groups, such as companies, unions, civic groups, religious organizations, and ethnic associations may also provide scholarships, grants and/or loans. Minimum qualifications generally require descent from the ethnic group or membership in the religion. Students are encouraged to research whether or not their religious or cultural/ethnic group provides any financial assistance.
